Saturday Market, where have you gone?

I miss the market, it ended the last Saturday of October.

Lillian didn't win the costume contest, which I kind of couldn't believe.  That cow costume is one of the cutest I've made (I made it for Roland).

Jack was supposed to be a duck, but wouldn't wear the hat.

Molly loves her drama club and the great directors.  I'm so glad that she shares this enthusiasm with me.  I had a dream about being in high school this week, it wasn't fun.  In it I was worrying what people thought of me.  When I awoke, I thought, if I have to relive some part of high school, why not something fun like being in The Music Man? 

Do you want to go to jail?

I am now an assistant bear den leader.  Fun times.  In conjunction with this role, I scheduled a field trip to the Marion County Sheriff's office.

If you look, Roland is in the back of the cub van (or my co-leader's vehicle).

Our guide was so great, and so generous with his time.  It was truly great to see the boys listen and absorb the great information he offered.  (And to see all the kids get into the SWAT van).

Where are the ducks?

My sweet sister was house sitting for some people with a pond.  So naturally she invited us to come see the ducks that live there.

Roland (as with all rural properties) was impressed and excited.

Sadly, these are wild ducks, and they all flew away as we approached.

So Lindsay took the kids to frozen yogurt instead.  She is moving to go back to college, and we will miss her so much!

What did you learn in Primary?

Today, after dinner, Molly asked me if she could do two chores  I said sure.  After dinner, she and Roland rotate the tasks of clearing and wiping the table and sweeping the kitchen floor. 
She did both of those jobs this evening, and when I praised her, she told me in Primary, they learned about 'taking two steps'  "Like, if you are asked to do one chore, do two!"  I said, yes, Jesus taught that.  She was pretty proud she'd applied that principle in real life.  I am pretty proud to have a little girl who tries so hard to be good.  She also told me "This means I'll be a good mom!"  I concur.

How old is Jack now?

People are starting to ask me this an extra lot, because he is starting to mostly walk around, very little crawling now.  He turned one early this month, this is a photo from the family birthday party he shared with Lillian.  I have declared this a new family tradition, since their birthdays are less than a week apart.

Jack is a fun and funny guy.  At the beginning of Gospel Doctrine this week, he freaked out people by going and messing with the outlets.  Then as the teacher began the lesson Jack toddled up and started addressing him in his silly baby talk.  So everyone laughed.  So Jack laughed (he loves to laugh).  So the class laughed.  So Jack laughed some more.  So the class really was laughing now.  So he and I left.  Frankly, he was being adorable, but we still couldn't stay.  He started talking loudly to the teacher as soon as the poor man tried to begin again (never work with children or animals--W.C. Fields).

So did they start school?
